The Machine & Process Design RIGIMILL has a number of advantages over competitive hammermills. We offer a mill with that can be customized with different rotor designs, screen selections, and options for different finishes ranging from carbon steel up to food and dairy grade. Ease of maintenance is very important to us and whether you need to change bearings, hammers, seals or clean the machine, our mill was designed with the user in mind. The generous access door makes the RIGIMILL much easier to maintain when you need to change hammers or screens without disturbing inlet and discharge connections. Machine & Process Design uses outboard bearings to accommodate different seal designs and to offer access to the bearings and seals during routine maintenance. Some of the other design differences when comparing our RIGIMILL to traditional hammer mills is our oversized rotors and they can perform without the need to pull air through the grinding chamber. Our larger rotors offer two benefits: it allows for a higher tip speed without spinning the rotor as fast as other machines and it also allows for more usable screen area as compared with competitors. Machine & Process Design’s deflector plate and offset inlet pulls the air through the grinding chamber using the rotor with no external air needed, except when venting.
